Over the years Uphill has supported many businesses from Antique Shop to Undertaker, Bakers to Wet Fish.

Between the Wars there were as many as 22 shops and businesses, plus farms to be found in the village all adding to its prosperity and sense of community. Today the number is very much less but all still play an important role in ensuring that Uphill maintains its separate identity.
