Links Ladies

Links Ladies meet in the Small Committee Room of the Victory Hall on Monday
evenings at 7.30. Founded in 1986, the Club is not affiliated to any political
or religious organisations and a wide range of ages is represented in
current membership. Guests may attend meetings or join us for outside
events, and new members are always very welcome.
A
varied programme of events is planned throughout the year and we try to
cater for all tastes. Past speakers have covered a wide variety of topics,
including health, educational and environmental issues; alternative therapies;
unusual hobbies and interests; local charities and organisations; travel.
Club events have included fashion shows, demonstrations of flower-arranging
and other crafts, bring-and-buy sales, and Scrabble and quiz evenings.
Members have provided an interesting variety of food at themed evenings,
and we have also enjoyed visiting local pubs and restaurants; our Christmas
meal out is always well supported. Outside events have included visits
to local theatres, tours of historic houses and gardens, a canal trip,
guided walks around Weston, visits to a local garden centre, and a walking
Treasure Hunt is planned for May.
The
Club makes regular charitable contributions, either by donation to speakers
or from specific fund-raising events.
Non-members
are welcome to join us on outside trips, or attend meetings as guests.
